Injury and Pain Clinic
Amanda Livesey is Clinical Lead at the Injury and Pain Medicine Clinic. Amanda qualified with 1st class honours. She is a Senior Associate of The Royal Society Of Medicine.
Specialising in Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine in both the non sports person and sports person, she has undertaken research in:
- the effects that anterior cruciate ligament rupture has on neurological function
- anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction protocol
- the effects of using a joint support or bracing on neurological function.
The Injury and Pain Medicine Clinic provides expert assessment, treatment and rehabilitation for the non-sports person and those who participate in sport and exercise. We provide post-op treatment for patients who have undergone joint replacements and other complex surgical procedures. We also work with patients who have sustained complex injuries and conditions as a result of a road traffic accident or posture pain for instance.
We treat patients with neuromusculoskeletal conditions such as Parkinsons disease and Muscular Dystrophy to find ways in which to manage pain and be as independent as possible.
We also work with recreational and elite athletes from a variety of disciplines including dance injuries.
Amanda is a highly respected and sought after therapist. She attends several medical research seminars each year so that the Injury and Pain Medicine Clinic can provide patients with progressive and effective treatment and rehabilitative medicine techniques. We treat patients of all ages, tailoring treatment to your needs.
Amanda is also trained in Osteopathic Manipulation Medicine and is a certified Medical Acupuncturist.
